Man arrested for injuring officer during attempted escape

Lee Trevino, 27, charged with aggravated assault of a public servant

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A man accused of trying to shoplift at a retail store injured a police officer in his attempt to escape, an arrest affidavit said. Lee Trevino, 27, is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant.

According to the arrest affidavit, Trevino was seen on Tuesday at the Kohl's Department store located at 11781 Bandera Road by a police officer as he attempted to flee the scene.

The affidavit said Trevino dropped the stolen merchandise and ran to his vehicle.

That's when, the affidavit said, Trevino started the vehicle and reversed into the officer as the officer attempted to take him into custody -- trapping the officer between the door and the door frame.

The officer was then dragged a short distance suffering injuries to both legs and his arm, the affidavit said.

Trevino fled, but the officer injured identified the suspect from a photo array.

Detectives located Trevino's last known home address and he was taken into custody.
