Man attempts to abduct girl in Seguin, police say

Police searching for man driving white pickup truck

SEGUIN, Texas – Police are searching for a man who attempted to abduct a girl Thursday around 2:40 p.m. from the area of the 400 block of West Klein Street.

Seguin police said the girl was approached by a Hispanic man driving a white pickup truck (possibly four-door). He rolled down the window and asked if she needed a ride. When she declined he asked again and she declined again. That's when police said the man put the car into park.

The girl told police she then began running and the man got out and ran after her. When he caught up to her he grabbed her arm, but she was able to pull away.

Police said the man went back to his truck and drove away heading north on South Guadalupe Street.

Police described the man as in his 50s or 60s, short, with a stocky build. He was wearing a black shirt, white pants, black pointy-toe shoes, a blue and white baseball cap and a snake ring.

The man is not believed to have any facial hair.

Anyone with information about the man's identity or whereabouts can contact Seguin police.
