Police find man with gunshot wounds on Southwest Side street

Victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a shooting that left a man wounded in the middle of a street, officials said Friday.

The incident was reported just after midnight on Briggs Avenue and Somerset Road, found near Southwest Military Drive and Palo Alto Road.

Police said the man found was shot once in the chest and once in the arm. 

The man was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

The name of the victim is not presently known and no arrests have been made in the case.

Police have not released a motive.

The shooting was the second shooting early Friday morning that police are presently investigating.
