SAN ANTONIO – A 25-year-old man wanted on a felony warrant was arrested following a brief standoff Thursday afternoon on the city's Southwest Side.
The U.S. Marshal's Service was serving a warrant at a home in the 5400 block of Little Creek at around 1 p.m., when the man barricaded himself in the attic.
A SWAT team was called in to try and convince the man to come out peacefully.
Sgt. Jesse Salame, a San Antonio police spokesman, said an accident apparently helped end the standoff.
"While he was up in the attic, I think he may have taken a miss step, and fell down from the attic and onto the ground," he said. "They were able to move in and secure him."
The standoff lasted about an hour.
