$103,000 worth of meth seized at Laredo port of entry

53-year-old Mexican national arrested

LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 13 pounds of methamphetamine last week at a Laredo port of entry.

The seizure was made Thursday at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge, where a CBP officer referred a tractor-trailer driven by a 53-year-old male Mexican national for an intensive inspection, officials said. The inspection revealed two bundles of crystal methamphetamine valued at $103,020, authorities said.

The driver was arrested and the case turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents, officials said.
