VIA to host public hearings for proposed route changes
64 U.S. 90 Express, 100 Primo, 101 Primo routes under consideration
SAN ANTONIO – VIA Metropolitan Transit will host two public hearings to seek the community's feedback regarding proposed route changes scheduled for implementation in January 2017.
The first hearing will be held on Aug. 30 in Room A of the Leon Valley Conference Center at 6427 Evers Road. The open house begins at 4 p.m.
The second hearing will be held Sept. 7 at the VIA Metro Center at 1021 San Pedro Ave. The open house begins at 4 p.m.
Following are details of the proposed route changes:
64 U.S. 90 Express: Route will be modified to run clockwise on all trips at the end of the route by Northwest Vista College. Schedule will be adjusted.
100 Primo: Route will be split into two routes (100 Primo and 101 Primo) to increase schedule reliability. The revised 100 Primo will operate the existing service between Ellis Alley and the Medical Center Transit Center every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.
101 Primo: New route resulting from separation of 100 Primo. New 101 Primo will operate the existing service every 30 minutes from Leon Valley to the Medical Center Transit Center and to the UTSA Main Campus.
In addition to the service changes above, some downtown lineup bus stops will be relocated due to street and sidewalk closures near East Commerce Street between South St. Mary's and Soledad streets.
The public hearing at the Leon Valley Conference Center is served by Route 88. The public hearing at the VIA Metro Center is served by routes 3 and 4. Community members are encouraged to ride VIA to the public hearings. For more information, please call 210-362-2389 or click here.
