SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Water System is cleaning up two sewage spills caused by recent rains.
One spill happened at the Salado Creek Water Recycling Center near in the 300 block of Ira Lee.
Crews say a large intake of rainwater caused a 48-inch sewer main to over flow.
More than 100,000 gallons of sewage was released into Salado Creek.
The second, smaller, spill occurred at the Leon Creek Water Recycling Center near Lackland Air Force Base.
SAWS said more than 50,000 gallons of sewage spilled there.
SAWS is monitoring both creeks, but has not reported any impact.
