SAN ANTONIO – A car crashed into a utility pole Wednesday morning on the city's Northwest Side, which resulted in several other poles being toppled and knocking out power in the area.
Police said the driver told them that he had just gotten off work and was tired when he fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a pole around 11:15 a.m. in the 7400 block of Grissom Road.
The weight of the utility pole caused several others to fall.
The driver walked away from the crash and was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
CPS Energy crews are working on restoring power to the area. There was no immediate word on how long that would take.
