It's been nearly seven years since 17-year-old Paul De Leon was shot in the back of the head at a Southeast Side intersection and died. Nothing, not even a sketch of the suspect released years ago, has helped crack the case. || An investigation that began in August has led to the recovery of what Bexar County Sheriff’s Office investigators said is $2 million dollars in stolen jewelry. Six residents in the Stone Oak area reported jewelry missing and all had employed the same housecleaning woman. || A teenage boy was fatally struck by an 18-wheeler early Monday morning on the near East Side. San Antonio police said the boy, believed to be around 12 or 13 years old, was attempting to cross the interstate when he was struck by the driver of an 18-wheeler traveling east on Interstate 10 near Gevers Street.

Too much violence

In the span of 20 minutes Sunday evening three people were shot. The first shooting on the South Side left two people clinging for life, while the victim on the East Side refused to cooperate with police. Not long after those shootings, a drug deal ended with a man being shot and his SUV being stolen Sunday night. Earlier Sunday, Facebook led to a stabbing. On Saturday, a man was stabbed to death in front of a west side convenience store. Hours later, a man in his 20s was shot to death at a Northwest Side motel, police said. C’mon, San Antonio, we can do better than this.

Forced to use deadly force

A man was shot by a San Antonio police officer Saturday. Police said they a car reported carjacked on Friday to a South Side convenience store. When Perez left the store, police tried to arrest him and Perez reached for a gun. Perez is facing three charges including, aggravated assault charge against a peace officer, felon in possession of a firearm and theft of a vehicle, police said.

Cowboys, Texans win

Who thought we’d be able to say that? Both the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans came away with victories Sunday. Dallas put away the Washington Redskins (27-23) in the fourth quarter and showed they can win (at least one game) with Tony Romo. The Texans also avenged a 2015 post-season loss by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs (19-12). Moms and dads don’t worry.
