Arrest made in Northwest Side hit-and-run crash that killed bicyclist

Logan Ball, 27, charged with failure to stop and render aid


SAN ANTONIO – Logan Ball, 27, is facing a charge of failure to stop and render aid involving death stemming from a crash on the Northwest side that killed a bicyclist.

Ball was taken into custody Sunday. An arrest warrant affidavit stated that he confessed to police that he was driving who left the scene after hitting Christopherson Cortes, 24, with his car.

The affidavit stated that Cortes was riding his bike near Loop 1604 and Braun Road September 17 when he was hit.  He died later at a hospital.

Ball told police he hid the car involved at an apartment complex in the 9800 block of Colonnade, the affidavit stated.

It stated that police recovered the car from that location and that it had damage consistent with the crash.
