Home left with large hole after truck crashes into it

Fire crews stabilized interior until contractors can repair damage

SAN ANTONIO – A family was left with a large hole in the front of their house after a truck accidentally crashed into it.

The crash happened Monday about 3 p.m. on Greencrest Drive, which is in a neighborhood off Interstate 10 along Vance Jackson Road.

Neighbors were working on a truck across the street, removing some handicap devices that were previously installed, when someone got behind the wheel and the truck apparently took off and crashed into the house straight ahead.

The family was in the house at the time, but were in the back. No one was injured and no charges were pressed against anyone.

Firefighters were able to stabilize the interior of the house until the homeowners can get a contractor to repair the damage.
