9 students arrested after fight at Burbank High School

No students were injured

SAN ANTONIO – A high school fight on the city's South Side on Tuesday landed nine students in handcuffs.

A video was sent to KSAT by one of the students at Burbank High School.

San Antonio Independent School District Spokeswoman Leslie Price the fight started when two boys bumped into each other.

But the one-on-one argument soon got out of control, as other students jumped in and things quickly got physical.

At one point, it appears one teen punched another student repeatedly.

Once the fight was broken up, six students under the age of 17 were sent to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Three others, who were over the age of 17, were sent to the Bexar County Jail.

All are charged with participating in a riot.

Price said in a statement, "We are very disappointed by the conduct of these students today. Our police have increased their presence in the school."

Price said there weren't any other issues once school was dismissed on Tuesday.
