KERRVILLE, Texas – A 7-year-old girl in Kerrville who was shot in the head earlier this month was released from the hospital Friday night.
Mariah Gilkey’s mother said her daughter is doing well, but there’s still a long road to recovery ahead.
“She’s going to have to go through a little bit more therapy for her hand. They said possibly some speech therapy, but other than that she looks really good,” said Isabel Gebara, Mariah’s mother.
Mariah was shot on Oct. 1 while sitting in her father’s car. Police said an unknown group of people fired several rounds at the vehicle.
No one has been arrested in the case.
