Body found at scene of earlier West Side shooting

Both discovery, shooting occurred in 6600 block of Monterey St

SAN ANTONIO – A man's body was found at the same scene of an earlier shooting Tuesday morning on the city's West Side, San Antonio police said.

The discovery was made around 7:30 a.m. in the exact same home that a man was shot at around 2:15 a.m.

According to police, the body was not there when authorities first responded to a man being shot in the rear-end. Police said that victim, a 48-year-old man, was walking to his front door when someone came up to him and shot him. The suspect of that shooting then fled the scene, police said.

Police said the victim however has refused to tell police who the shooter is, and why he was shot. The man was taken to University Hospital for his non-life-threatening injury.

Police said they are now trying to figure out what transpired between the earlier incident and the discovery of the body.

Authorities said they do believe the two shootings are tied together in some way, but have yet to announce a connection.

Police said the body found was a male in his late 20s or early 30s. The name of the victim has yet to be released.

The investigation into both shootings are ongoing.
