Zoning commission approves conceptual design for Lone Star Brewery

Project expected to include 376,000 square feet of retail, creative office space

SAN ANTONIO – The city zoning commission approved a conceptual design for the reinvention of the old Lone Star Brewery.

The commission approved the project in a unanimous vote. The partnership between Aqualand Development, of San Marcos, and CBL & Associates, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is expected to include 376,000 square feet of retail and creative office space and three buildings of multifamily dwellings.

The city’s historic and design review commission will vote Wednesday. The City Council could get its say on the project on Dec. 1.
