Second-grader rewarded for participation in Whataburger's 'Whatcha Reading' program with pep rally

Spurs guards Patty Mills, Dejounte Murray attend pep rally celebration

SAN ANTONIO – One lucky second-grader was rewarded for her participation in Whataburger’s "Watcha Reading” program. Spurs guards Patty Mills and Dejounte Murray attended a pep rally celebrating the winner Thursday afternoon.

The Coyote, the Silver Dancers and Whataburger’s mascot, Whataguy, also joined the celebration.

The reading program is designed to reward students who have exceptional reading habits.

Murray E. Boon Elementary student Clara Hartfiel was randomly selected from a pool of more than 1,000 participating students.
