Man arrested, charged with organized retail theft

Food mart employee would sell stolen goods out of workplace, police said

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of buying and selling stolen items was arrested and is facing charges.

Harjinder Singh, 29, is charged with organized retail theft. Police said shoplifters were bringing stolen items into Zarzamora Food Mart on the Southwest Side, which is where Singh worked.

Police said Singh told people what he want them to steal and then would sell the stolen items out of the store.

Authorities said they recovered stolen items from Lowes, Home Depot, Academy Sports & Outdoors and Express from inside the food mart, his car and at his home.

The stolen goods were worth about $2,500 to $3,000.
