Deputies looking for chase suspects after crash

Car crashed into telephone pole with weapons found inside, authorities say

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County deputies are searching for a pair of suspects following a high-speed chase overnight.

The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Northeast Bexar County.

Deputies said they tried to pull over a car for a traffic stop in the 5000 block of Foster Road. That's when, officials said, the driver sped off before eventually reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour.

At the intersection of Fratt Road the driver side-swiped a minivan before crashing into a telephone pole.

Both the driver and the passenger ran from the scene.

Deputies said they found handguns and two long rifles inside the vehicle.

The suspects have yet to be found. The investigation is ongoing.
