SAN ANTONIO – The Catholic church is celebrating Christmas Mass with inmates in San Antonio.
This is the sixth year Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller held a special Mass at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
Dozens of inmates were in attendance.
The archbishop said there are 35 jails in his archdiocese and he wants them to know they are not forgotten.
"I have never been scared, afraid or fearful when I go to a prison. They are people like we are. And people are people,” he said.
Garcia-Siller said the Christmas Mass brings a message of hope and new beginnings.
