Homeless man hospitalized after driver intentionally ran over him, police say

Driver at large

SAN ANTONIO – A homeless man is in the hospital after a driver intentionally ran over him after an altercation Saturday, police said.

Police said the driver was near San Pedro Avenue and Cypress Street when the victim was trying to cross the road. The driver did not slow down and an argument ensued.

The victim told the driver he had the right of way. As the driver was leaving, they continued to argue.

The driver left and turned around at a gas station, only to come back and intentionally run over the victim, police said.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark sedan. The driver remains at large and was last seen driving westbound on Cypress.

Police said the victim had a lot of scratches on his arm and possibly a dislocated knee. He was taken to University Hospital.
