San Antonio police seek help identifying Home Depot robbery suspect

2 employees injured trying to stop shoplifters

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an aggravated robbery at a Home Depot.

The robbery happened Tuesday at the store in the 400 block of W. Sunset Road.

Police said a robber tried to steal merchandise from the store. An employee asked the robber for his receipt. The robber tried to force his way past the exit, police said.

The employee told police she stood in front of a shopping cart to stop the robber from leaving. Police said that's when the robber grabbed an item and lifted it over his head.

A second employee in the incident intervened and a struggle ensued. Police said a second robbery suspect entered the store and started shooting at both employees with a pellet gun.

The two employees were taken to North Central Baptist Hospital. Their conditions were not given.

The robbers are described by police as white males who weigh between 150 and 160 pounds and are 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police said they left the store in a gray four-door SUV.

Police have provided a photo of one of the robbers. Anyone with information regarding the robber's identity or his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867). Police said Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.
