Woman critically burned in crash near Stone Oak

Woman transported to University Hospital after crash on Summerglen Way at 281

SAN ANTONIO – A 22-year-old woman suffered extensive burns to her lower body in a crash Friday morning near Stone Oak.

San Antonio police said the driver crashed into a traffic pole around 1:30 a.m. while traveling on Highway 281 at Summerglen Way.

Police said the woman was driving at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her car and slammed into the light pole.

The car caught fire upon impact. Paramedics responded and transported her to University Hospital in critical condition.

Police have not said if alcohol was involved in the crash.
