Motel guests relocated after overnight fire

Fire was at 10:30 p.m. at Studio 6 Motel in 6000 block of US Hwy 90 W

SAN ANTONIO – A motel is damaged and its guests have been relocated following an overnight fire, officials said Thursday.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. at the Studio 6 Motel, located in the 6000 block of U.S. Highway 90 West. 

Firefighters said smoke was coming out of the third floor when they arrived. They said however that they were able to contain the fire to one single room.

No one was inside that room at the time of the fire, officials said. 

Damage is presently estimated at roughly $20,000. 

Firefighters said the guests that were displaced by the fire were moved to the Days Inn Motel next door.

There is no word yet on a cause.
