BCSO investigates homicide in South Bexar County

Incident reported on Loop 1604, near Quintana Road

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office was at the scene of a homicide Monday afternoon in South Bexar County -- trying to determine how a man's body ended up in front of a home.

Rosanne Hughes, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office, said a person driving by the home saw man's body in the front yard.

That person called 911.

"When deputies arrived they discovered that there was indeed a man's body just lying here in front of the house," Hughes said. "What happened? We don't know at this time. This is an active criminal investigation. So there's lot of questions."

It was unclear how the man died or if he lived at the home, Hughes said.

Lillie Gonzales, who lives down the street, told a KSAT crew that her cousin lives at the house, where the body was found.

Gonzales said deputies didn't allow her to talk to him while they were on the scene.

She said she saw the crime tape and became worried.

"That's my cousin that lives there and I just wanted to know what was wrong. I went by and asked them and they said that he was fine," Gonzales said. "All I wanted to know is that it wasn't him, because I saw that tape around."

Hughes said anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 210-335-6070.
