Investigators said Fondon has been drinking all day and went into his bedroom to sleep. He heard people talking and came out. The 20-year-old victim laughed.

Fondon thought the victim was laughing at him, so he slapped her in the face, authorities said. Police said he then repeatedly punched a second victim, a 14-year-old boy, who suffered a concussion.

Fondon has two prior convictions for assault causing bodily injury.
