Woman killed in South Side apartment shooting

Police seek woman's boyfriend for questioning

SAN ANTONIO – A 33-year-old woman is dead after a shooting on the city’s South Side, police said.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of Pecan Valley Drive about 9 p.m.

The woman was found dead in her apartment with a single gunshot wound in her upper body. San Antonio police Chief William McManus said officers believe the incident was domestic.

Police are now looking for the woman’s 33-year-old boyfriend to speak with him about the shooting.

Neighbors said they heard three gunshots. Many said the shooting is just another instance of violence in the area.

“I moved here from Detroit to get away from the violence, and I feel like I moved back to Detroit. There was a hostage situation just last month and a shooting just a few days ago here,” resident Gary Markman said.

Police are trying to figure out if the shooting was accidental or on purpose. They are still looking for the woman’s boyfriend to ask him questions.
