Air Force tech sergeant surprises his 8 children

After being deployed for 6 months, Clark Medina spent day surprising his kids

SAN ANTONIO – The moment of a service member reuniting with their children after a long deployment is always a touching event. On Thursday, it was no different, but a little busier, as U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Clark Medina surprised all eight of his children.

KSAT caught up with Medina on his third stop to surprise his two daughters at Providence Catholic School.

"I’ve been gone for six months to Kuwait, and I’m here to surprise my daughters,” Medina said.

His son, who attends Central Catholic High School, was taken to Providence to be part of the surprise.  The whole event was put together by Medina’s wife, Christa.

"I just really wanted to make it special for my husband,” she said.

Three of his children, who attend middle school, had been surprised earlier in the day. Medina also surprised his daughter at her Texas A&M dorm room in College Station.

The last of the Medina siblings was scheduled to be surprised later in the day.

"They've made a lot of sacrifices for me to be in this position, so I’m so glad. I’m so proud,” Medina said.

Medina said he believes this would be his last deployment.
