2 accused of taking part in violent drug deal arrested, authorities say

Suspects charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon

SAN ANTONIO – Two men accused of taking part in a violent drug deal on Jan. 1 are behind bars, police said.

Detectives said Shawn Cain admitted he, Paschal Evans and a minor met with the victim in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Bandera Road. He said he gave the victim $75 for marijuana, but the driver sped off before handing it over.

Police said Cain then shot at the car, hitting the victim’s left wrist, pinky and ring fingers.

Cain and Evans are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
