SAN ANTONIO – Some students at Southwest High School will soon be getting real-world experience in the technical trade business.
Holt Cat has partnered with Southwest ISD to provide paid internships to students in the career and technical education program. It’s an opportunity for students to work with industry-level mentors and get experience at Holt Cat.

One student said this field was second nature to her because her grandfather and dad are mechanics.
"I will attend college, more than likely St. Philip’s, to do my two years in an automotive program and hopefully get more experience as I go along with Holt, and just try to, you know, make a better career out of the opportunity that they are giving me already,” said Ariel Gomez, Holt Cat intern and Southwest High student.
Students will receive credit from the internship for graduation.
