Man in critical condition after hit-and-run on Westfield

Police looking for driver of small white pickup with major front-end damage

SAN ANTONIO – A man is an extremely critical condition after a hit-and-run crash in the 7000 block of Westfield, authorities said.

Police said the man, in his late 20s to early 30s, was walking in the middle of Westfield, near the intersection of West Military Drive, about 9 p.m. when witnesses heard screeching tires.

Police said witnesses reported seeing a small white pickup driving at normal speed before hitting the man and fleeing.

Authorities are looking for the driver of the pickup, which has its driver's side windshield shattered and major front-end damage.

The victim was taken to University Hospital with massive head trauma and will undergo surgery.
