SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest after a 2-year-old girl was kidnapped from her front yard Monday.
Demetric Jackson, 38, was picked up by deputies Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the mother called San Antonio police Monday night after her daughter disappeared, but officers were not able to find the girl.
The woman then called BCSO Tuesday night and the two were found Wednesday at a home in the 400 block of Hub Avenue.
When asked by a KSAT reporter his relationship to the child, Demetric said the girl was his daughter.
"Obviously a scary situation for this mother and the family to have a child this young, this tiny child just 2 years old, taken from a front yard," BCSO spokesperson Rosanne Hughes said.
Hughes said an Amber Alert was not issued because certain parameters were not met.
The child is expected to be OK and did not require medical attention.
Jackson is facing one charge of kidnapping.
