SAN ANTONIO – A 48-year-old woman was arrested for stealing personal information from at least 23 people since last year, authorities said.

Cynthia Guerra Alanis is charged with fraudulent use and possession of identifying information.

On Aug. 12, police said they found stolen mail, fake drivers’ licenses, social security cards and military IDs at Alanis’ home. She admitted to using the fake documents and forged checks to steal money and identities from people, according to police.

Alanis said two other people helped her commit the crimes, police said. Police were able to track down four of the 23 alleged victims, who all said they didn’t know Alanis and didn’t give her any of their information.
