Fiery crash sends man to hospital

Victim in critical condition

SAN ANTONIO – A driver managed to escape his burning car but was sent to the hospital in critical condition. 

According to San Antonio police, the man was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle. He swerved into a grassy median, clipped a telephone pole, then got back onto the road, police said.

At South East Military Drive near South W. W. White Road the driver hit two more telephone poles, cutting one in half, police said.

The vehicle flipped onto its top and caught fire. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle but was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for smoke inhalation. He is currently in critical condition.
