Northwest Side IBC robbed third time in 13 months

SAN ANTONIO – A Northwest Side bank has been robbed for the third time in just over a year.

Police responded to the armed robbery Saturday afternoon at the International Bank of Commerce on Babcock and Callaghan roads.

KSAT 12 reported the bank was also robbed twice in 2016, in February and October.

Police said on Saturday a masked man with gloves and a hoodie entered the bank with his gun in sight.

"(The robber) ran up and he turned around, told everybody to get down, brandishing his gun and he turned around to the teller and said ‘Give me all your money,’” witness Richard Saldana said. “(The teller) gave him the money, and he says 'No.' And he goes, 'I know there's more.' She goes, 'No, this is all.' And he was starting to jump over the counter, and then that's when I guess she gave him the rest."

Police said the robber ran across the street to an apartment complex and got into a silver car with an unknown amount of cash.

A detective at the scene said it’s too early to say if the robber is a suspect in any other robberies.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
