Man hospitalized after downtown stabbing

Incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Monday near East Commerce

SAN ANTONIO – A man stabbed downtown overnight has given little information to authorities to work with, San Antonio police said Monday.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when the man appeared at the corner of East Commerce Street and Navarro with a stab wound to the stomach.

Police said the wounded man was so highly intoxicated that he could not tell them anything about who stabbed him and why.

The man was taken to University Hospital for his injuries.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
