CBP seizes estimated $365K of cocaine at Laredo port of entry

Authorities find 48 packages of cocaine in vehicle at World Trade Bridge

LAREDO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Thursday seized an estimated $365,000 worth of cocaine at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo.

CBP authorities searched a 2006 Kenworth tractor that was driven by a 51-year-old Mexican citizen from Nuevo Laredo. They found 18 packages containing 48 pounds of cocaine during the inspection.

Officers arrested the driver and seized the drugs. The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
