SAN ANTONIO – A search is underway for the person responsible for attempting to rob multiple restaurants late Tuesday night, San Antonio police said.
The spree began just before 10:30 p.m. at a Subway sandwich shop in the 1400 block of Austin Highway on the city's Northeast Side and took place over the course of a single hour.
Police said the suspect armed with gun walked into the store and demanded money from the employees before taking off with cash.
Less than 10 minutes later, the suspect then attempted to rob another Subway, this one located off of Rittiman Road and Interstate 35. In that instance, the employees managed to call police and did not give the suspect any money.
It was then the man went to a Wingstop located on Rigsby Avenue near Loop 410 and demanded more money before going to a final unknown restaurant on I-10 and Loop 1604.
The suspect ultimately received cash from two of the four restaurants visited, police said.
Police said the man in question is described as being about six foot one, wearing a black hoodie and a black bandana.
SAPD said anyone with information about the crimes is urged to call police.
