SAN ANTONIO – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers on Monday seized $688,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine.

Authorities searched a 46-year-old female bus passenger from Morelos, Mexico at the Laredo port of entry and CBP officers said they found three packages containing 34 pounds of meth during the inspection.

“The primary officers’ experience and interviewing technique was a key component in this significant narcotic interception,” said Gregory Alvarez, Laredo port of entry director. “I commend our officers for their hard work, dedication and commitment to our mission.

CBP officers arrested the woman and seized the drugs. The case was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations special agents for further investigation.
