Police seek hit-and-run driver who killed 89-year-old woman on way to hospital

Crime Stoppers offering up to $5,000 reward for information leading to arrest

SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers is seeking information about the identity of a man in connection with a felony hit-and-run.

On Feb. 27, an 89-year-old woman was being driven to the hospital in a red Ford Explorer. While traveling eastbound in the 1000 block of Interstate 10, the Explorer was struck by a gray Kia from behind.

After both vehicles skidded to a stop, the driver of the gray Kia drove off and failed to render aid or provide their information. The victim, Alice Hernandez, died following the collision.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest of the man responsible. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call (21) 224-STOP (7867).
