SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is spending the next two days helping people who are Muslim register to vote.
CAIR is the nation’s largest civil rights and advocacy organization for Muslims.
Voting is more important now than ever before, officials with CAIR said Friday.
They’re monitoring what they call a “troubling spike” in hate incidents targeting minority groups. CAIR said engaging in civic duties is something all Muslims should do.
The group will hold another voter-registration drive at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mustafa Grocers, on Medical Drive.
