Driver arrested in crash near downtown

Passenger suffered broken leg

SAN ANTONIO – A woman was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing her vehicle into a guardrail near downtown. 

The crash happened on Interstate 35 near South Laredo Street.

San Antonio police said the woman hit a guardrail, tearing off the front right wheel of her SUV.

The San Antonio Fire Department had to cut the passenger out of the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with a broken ankle. 

The woman driving was arrested on charges of intoxication assault and driving while intoxicated.
