2 men hospitalized after separate West Side accidents

SAN ANTONIO – Two men are in the hospital after each was hit by a car in separate incidents on the West Side.

The first accident happened just before 11 p.m. Friday in the 7700 block of Marbach Road. A woman was pulling out of the driveway of John Jay High School and hit a man riding a bicycle.

Police said the cyclist had no reflectors and was wearing dark clothing. The driver told investigators she didn’t see the man.

The second accident happened about an hour later by Zarzamora Street and Culebra Road.  Police said a man in dark clothing was walking across Culebra diagonally when he was struck by a car.

The man went through the car’s windshield. No one inside the vehicle was hurt.

The driver said she didn’t see the man crossing the road. The condition of the pedestrian is unknown.
