Testimony began Tuesday afternoon in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by family members of a man who was fatally wounded by an off duty San Antonio police officer in a restaurant parking lot.
Marquise Jones, 23, was shot by officer Robert Encina outside Chacho's and Chalucci's Restaurant on Perrin Beitel Road in February 2014. Jones' family contends the victim's civil rights were violated. They've sued Officer Encina and the City of San Antonio.
Paul Venema sat down on GMSA @ 9 to talk about the case.
