NISD bus driver on leave after accusations of behaving inappropriately with students

SAN ANTONIO – A bus driver for the Northside Independent School District is on leave and is facing accusations that he behaved inappropriately with students.

A parent of a Bernal Middle School student made a complaint Thursday that the driver made noises or comments that made a female student uncomfortable, and he also pulled at the student’s shirt.

NISD said administrators were made aware of the complaint Thursday, and the driver was placed on leave.

On Friday, a parent of a Bennie Cole Elementary School student also made a complaint against the driver, saying he acted inappropriately with their child.

The school district said the driver is a man who has worked with the district since August 2016.

NISD is reviewing surveillance video from onboard the bus as it investigates.

The investigation is in its early stages, the district said. The driver is not currently facing any charges.
