Man shot in drive-by on city's North Side, police say


SAN ANTONIO – He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s what San Antonio police said about a man who was shot Tuesday afternoon on the city’s North Side.

The shooting happened about 3 p.m. in the 2600 block of Westward Drive, near the Westwood Apartments and Townhomes complex.

Officers said several people were outside the complex when an SUV pulled up and someone in it started shooting.

A man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was hit in the lower body. He was taken to University Hospital and is expected to be OK.

The shooter and another man drove off. They were last seen headed toward Highway 90.
