Pilot injured in Schertz plane crash

Crash reported Monday night


SCHERTZ, Texas – The pilot of a plane was injured Monday night when the aircraft crashed.

Schertz police confirmed the crash  in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

The department said the single-engine plane crashed at Kitty Hawk Flying Field. The statement did not say if the pilot was taking off or landing.

The pilot was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center. His condition was not released.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Schertz Police Department.
