DEA raids house in far NE Side, uncovers drugs, cash, weapons

SAN ANTONIO – A Drug Enforcement Administration task force search warrant led to thousands of dollars in drugs, cash and an arsenal of weapons in a home on the far Northeast Side.

Only one of three people detained during the DEA bust was charged.

Agents raided a home in the 6500 block of Kestrel Lane. The task force arrived at the home Thursday afternoon.

The tenants originally refused to come out. They eventually surrendered and agents went inside, uncovering 20 pounds of marijuana, more than $75,000 in cash and plenty of weapons and ammunition.

At least one weapon was identified as stolen from Bexar County.

Ryan Westbrook was arrested and is facing federal drug and weapons charges. The other two people detained were let go.

A child was in the home when the task force arrived. A family member was able to pick her up.
