Seguin man indicted for indecency with teen boys; detectives say there could be more victims

Daniel "Hillbilly" Huffman, 42, being held at Guadalupe County Jail

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas – A Guadalupe County man has been indicted on four counts of indecency with a child. Investigators reported that two victims have come forward, but they believe there may be more.

Daniel Huffman, 42, who known in the community as "Hillbilly," was living at the Park Creek subdivision off Schneider Road in Seguin when the allegations surfaced in October.

"A mother was concerned that a neighbor was spending too much time with her sons. As the investigation progressed, these kids outcried that sexual abuse occurred," Guadalupe County Sgt. Zachary McBride said.

McBride said fellow investigators interviewed the two teenage boys and even interviewed Huffman before he left for his home state of Kentucky. He was then arrested in January on four charges of indecency with a child.

"A warrant was issued for his arrest. We worked with the Kentucky state police to get him arrested and extradited back to Texas," McBride said.

A grand jury indicted him on the charges Thursday and he's being held in the Guadalupe County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

"Our training and experience teaches us, these cases, it's rarely one victim. It's rarely one incident, so we're concerned there may be more, especially in the Park Creek area, that haven't had a chance to come forward and outcry against it," McBride said.

Anyone who wants to report sexual abuse related to this case should call the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office at 830-379-1224.
