Driver crashes vehicle into fast food restaurant

Accident occurred just before 1 a.m. at Church's Chicken near S. Flores

SAN ANTONIO – A driver crashed their vehicle into the side of a fast food restaurant just south of downtown overnight, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The crash occurred just before 1 a.m. at a Church's Chicken located at the corner of Division and South Flores Street.

Police said the driver may have been speeding when they went through the intersection. The car eventually jumped a curb and then hit into the side of the building, police said.

When police arrived at the scene the driver was nowhere to be found. Officials have used the license plate to identify the owner of the vehicle, but it is unclear if that was who was driving the car at the time off the crash.

The estimated cost of damages is $10,000, police said.
