SAN ANTONIO – Two suspects dropped from the ceiling at a payday loan business and robbed the unsuspecting employees at gunpoint early Thursday morning, San Antonio police said.

The robbery was reported around 6:30 a.m. at a Speedy Cash located in the 1700 block of Babcock Road near Callaghan Road.

Police said workers were preparing for the day counting their cash when two men dressed in black with masks and guns dropped down out of the ceiling and then robbed them.

Police said they are not sure how long the suspects were above the ceiling, but they did say the robbers somehow managed to cut through the wood, metal, and construction materials that make up the external roof and ceiling to get inside.

Workers said they were too afraid to notice how the men escaped after they ran out the back door with the cash.

There were no injuries as a result of the robbery, police said.

So far no arrests have been made in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
